First Call for Papers: Open Topic Submission

“The Ombuds Chronicle: Dialogues in Higher Education” is our new Journalfor Ombuds in Higher Education. We invite you as members of ENOHE, scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original research papers, reviews, and case studies on a wide range of topics. This open topic issue aims to explore diverse perspectives and innovative ideas that advance knowledge across the field of ombuds work, conflict resolution, casework or comparative studies.
Any ENOHE member can submit an article for consideration. Non-members are permitted to serve as co-authors along with ENOHE members. Authors wishing to discuss their submission prior to submission are encouraged to contact the Chair of the Editorial Board, which is currently Ursula Meiser.
Type of submissions
We accept a wide variety of submissions, including:
- Research Articles: Empirical studies and theoretical analyses.
- Case studies: In-depth examinations of specific Ombuds interventions or practices.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of relevant literature.
- Commentaries: Opinion pieces on current issues and trends in Ombuds work.
- Book and Media Reviews
- Essays
- Short Reports
- Interviews
- Policy Features
Submission Guidelines
- Language: Papers may be submitted in any language, however as English is the working language of ENOHE, authors are asked to submit a version of the paper translated into English, which will be published alongside the original.
- Length: Articles should not exceed 10.000 words, including references
- References: Follow APA style for citations and references (You find a variety of reference examples here: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/examples).
- Authors should ensure that their work is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Please include an abstract of no more than 200 words and a list of 4-6 keywords.
- Submissions must be made via email to the vice-president as chair of the Editorial Board.
Peer Review Process: All submitted papers will undergo a peer review process to ensure high-quality contributions. The Editorial Board will contact two reviewers and reviews will be shared with the authors. The Editorial Board will take the final decision on publication.
