Two new board members from Portugal and the Czech Republic

During its first in-person conference for three years in Athens, Greece ENOHE, the European Network of Ombuds in Higher Education, held elections recently for two vacant board member positions.

Out of the four nominated candidates the two persons elected are Jorge António Ribeiro Pereira, the Student Ombudsman of the Universidade Beira Interior in Portugal, and Michaela Antonin Malanikova, the Ombudswoman of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Masaryk University in Olomouc in the Czech Republic. They both have already been active within the association in creating and developing a special ENOHE training program to start in spring 2023.

Jorge on his election: “It is a great honour to be elected by our peers for the Board of ENOHE. I am happy and enthusiastic with this new challenge. I truly believe that education and cooperation can improve the world for the better, and ombudspersons as well as ENOHE may play an important role in it.”

Michaela commented her new position as follows: “I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to be part of the ENOHE board. I very much appreciate the trust of my colleagues and I hope to contribute to the development of the ENOHE, especially in promoting cooperation in regions where the Ombuds position is not yet common.”

ENOHE President Josef Leidenfrost and Vice President Jean Grier expressed their deep appreciation of Jorge and Michaela getting engaged in the association’s further development and wished them success for their coming activities.
