Early 2021 Paul Herfs retired as ombudsman of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. A vacancy for an Ombuds position at the University of the Arts in Utrecht (HKU) appeared in May of this year. Paul Herfs was invited for a job interview. The Board and the University Council decided on September 9 this year that Paul Herfs will be appointed as the new Ombuds for Staff at the University for Arts in Utrecht.
With this appointment he is again an active member of the Dutch association of Ombuds in Higher Education (VOHO) and the European Network of Ombuds in Higher Education (ENOHE).
